From January to June, the National Migration Service of Panama has approved 6,228 residence permits for foreigners. According to a report released on June 10, 2015, the ranking of applications is led by Venezuela, followed by Colombia, Spain, Italy and the United States.
And all that entry of foreigners can be easily perceived. Upon entering the supermarkets, we detected different accents and products that until now were not common in the Panamanian market. But why? What attracts these immigrants?
Immigration is a very significant social phenomenon. It reflects the good economic performance of the country that receives expatriates. The United States, for example, is the nation that attracts immigrants most in the world. And people don’t move to that country simply because they want to change airs. Panama has a tropical climate and, therefore, temperatures are high throughout most of the year. In the summer, which corresponds to the months January, February and March, the landscapes of the country look even more beautiful which helps to give a little color and life to foreigners of white complexion.

Let’s be honest. Panama has a very rich and appreciated cuisine. It is impossible to resist sancochos, patacones, fish and tasty rice with guandú. In addition, the country offers a wide variety of restaurants with typical dishes from different countries, which makes foreigners feel at home.

Adventure tourism in Panama is an activity that, with each passing year, is gaining more strength in the country. Many people have been involved in this world, where diving, hiking, surfing and mountaineering, among many other activities, have gained a lot of followers.
Although Panama does not have an extensive territory, very different experiences can be lived in a short time, which in turn attracts both nationals and tourists from all over the world.
